First timer

I am considering going on xbox live with halo 2 but my best friend got wiped out stright away so i am not sure if it is a good idea can someone give me some tips 4 online play plz

Try out practice games first before you start playing ranked games. Experiment with all the weapons and vehicles, use any strategies you can think of, and see ones work the best. Once you're reasonably sure of yourself, go into the ranked games, but if you get your butt kicked, go back to practice. Just try out everything, that's all I can say.

Doing practice and not ranked matches can help a little bit, but you're better off just learning the maps without anyone else in there first (play by yourself on xbox at home) and then plunge into ranked games. People playing the practice maps aren't any good...they'll just annoy the hell out of you by shooting while you try to learn the maps.

Also, play a lot of team-centered games to start - team slayer, team skirmish, big team battle. You'll learn from the people you're playing with and see things that you hadn't thought of before. If you lose a few rounds just make sure that you figure out your mistakes and don't make them twice.

When you're in the 8-11 range join a clan to move your game to the next level. My clan, the Fubar Fockers can be found at www.fubarfockers.com. We have recruited people 8 or even under simply because they're just getting started, but you'd have to play a few rounds with us first. If you think you might be interested fill out an application and we'll go from there.

Find some friends that will play at your house or something if you havent gone to xbox live yet. We played alot of slayer at school just on regular split screen or system link it helped a lot besides when i got on live...hardly anyone was good enough to play against
